Program: Hearing Care Counselling Program for Ages 55 Plus

Description of Services: Assists seniors with hearing loss * Services include assessment and support for seniors with hearing loss to develop, maintain, or augment sensory capacity and promote maximum independence * the Hearing Care Counsellor Program includes:
  • home visits (or virtual visits)
  • education
  • demonstrate and recommend communication devices
  • facilitate hard of hearing support groups
  • teach hearing help classes and workshops

Hearing Care Counselling also provides in-service training to supportive housing, retirement homes and long-term care facilities.

Fees: Support services are free * set fees for devices and sign language interpreting services
Eligibility - Population(s) Served: Adult 55 years and older who have hearing loss or persons older than 19 with acquired hearing loss and a physical illness, frailty or physical disability
Application: Agency or self-referral is required
