Program: Women's Health Care Centre (The)

Organization: Peterborough Regional Health Centre
Description of Services: Provides health care services for women including information, support, counselling and treatment. Acts as a resource to enable women to enhance their quality of life and to make safe, informed choices about their health. Works co-operatively with community groups, agencies and professionals to improve women's access to quality health care.

Services include:
Colposcopy Clinic - follow-up for women with abnormal pap test results - call 705-876-5117
Reproductive Health Clinic - offers patients IUD insertion and removal, pap smears and more.
Unplanned Pregnancy Program - confidential and non-judgemental pregnancy testing, options counselling, abortion services, referral to supportive community services and follow-up care for women with unplanned pregnancies
pap tests for women 25 years and older who have no family physician and require birth control
Sexual Abuse Counselling - confidential help for women who were sexually abused as children whose past abuse is affecting them as adults
